As we have shifted into a new world with many employees working from home, it is important to still feel connected as a team! Although virtual happy hours can be great, after a few times it can start to feel repetitive and old. Other than happy hours, it is nice to explore some other ways to bond with your team from afar, still make them feel included, and give them something exciting to look forward to. Ensuring your team members feel appreciated and connected will help keep your employees happy and your company’s culture alive during this time. With everyone working remotely and not having their standard routine, it can be easy to slip into unhealthy eating and drinking habits, along with spending extra money on food for home.
A great idea is to send your employees a Wellness at Work “box” in advance and have everyone open them together! A tasty snack box is a thoughtful gift that sends a nice message from the employer to the employee. FitSnacks has lots of healthy snacks for your team to enjoy, and the option to add on hand sanitizers as well.
Another idea would be to team up with one of our local Destination Management Companies who have come up with some great virtual team building ideas! Destination Concepts, Inc. has “designed and facilitated a custom Trivia Teambuilding for clients to foster cross-department connections and friendly competition” among team members. Another one of our partners, MC&A, has put together a virtual activities list including fitness classes, cooking classes, virtual game show, poker tournaments, comedians and magicians shows!
Lastly, you could hire either a local or well-known musician, based on your budget, to put on a live concert for your team and have them take song requests. Everyone is missing out on live music and events to bring them together, so what better way to engage your team than a personalized concert that they can enjoy with their families from their living room!
