Join composer, performer, and 2019 Miss America titleholder Nia Imani Franklin in an intimate speaking event and dinner, celebrating “Women in the Arts”.
As a composer, Franklin has had her music performed by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Friction Quartet, and Jonathan Levin, among others. In addition to creating new, compelling works of art, Franklin is dedicated to empowering women in music, a mission upheld by "Compose Her," an organization that Franklin founded in 2019. Franklin was a recipient of the William R. Kenan, Jr. Fellowship at Lincoln Center Education, following which she earned the titles of Miss New York 2018 and Miss America 2019. Franklin holds a bachelor’s degree in music composition and theory from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, and a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem.
The first in a soon-to-be-announced series, “Women in the Arts” is presented in partnership with Festival Napa Valley and will showcase nationally recognized women in the arts in an exclusive and intimate setting at The Meritage Resort and Spa. Each event will also feature women in wine with featured women-owned and women-operated vintners, or wineries that feature female winemakers.
The “Women in the Arts” Dinner includes a 4-course meal with wine pairings provided by a Napa Valley vintner. Menu and wine pairings to follow.
